Cotton Stokinet Orthopedic cast stockinette is the first layer applied to cast application. This layer helps to wick sweat from the body. Cast padding is rolled over to the cast stockinette, followed by fibreglass or plaster casting tape. It is quite useful under bracing products such as a cam walker or knee brace to keep the brace from coming in contact with sweat, keeping it clean and sanitary.
Cotton Ribbed Stockinette is an inexpensive and convenient form of covering and protection for the skin. Its heavier material makes it especially suitable for use as an undercast stockinette.
